The North Carolina Board of Pharmacy does not require any hours of CE. However, certified pharmacy technicians must complete continuing education to comply with specific certification programs. The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) (which administers the ExCPT exam) require technicians to complete continuing education (CE) to maintain their certification. Technicians should contact the certifying organization directly for details on these requirements. Complying with these bodies is important to maintain national certification.
