Understanding your DEA training requirement
The Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE) Act requires DEA-registered practitioners to complete 8 hours of training on substance use disorders.
This is a one-time training requirement. Once completed, you won't need to repeat it for future DEA renewals.
When renewing your DEA registration, simply check a box on your application affirming you've completed the training.
Training can be completed in any combination across multiple sessions. No need to finish all 8 hours at once.
In support of improving patient care, RxCE.com is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Since DEA registrations are valid for 3 years, you have until your next registration date to complete the requirement. We recommend completing it early so you're ready when renewal time comes.
