Math Matters: A Review of Calculations for Sterile Compounding
Target Audience: Pharmacist, Pharmacy Tech
Course Overview
Preparing a compounded sterile preparation requires successfully completing many steps. This course will provide an overview of fundamental pharmaceutical calculations and related concepts, including units of measurement, conversions, the ratio and proportion method, dimensional analysis, and concentration expressions. Displacement volume and flow rate calculations will be reviewed, as well as calculations related to drug dosing and reconstitution. Step-by-step example problems will be provided to aid the learner in understanding these concepts.
