Course Description

The Global Initiative for Asthma has published a Global Strategy for Asthma Management and Prevention, updated in 2025. Asthma is a global health problem that affects all age groups and requires ongoing medical management and education. Most patients can achieve good control of their asthma by following the updated guidelines, thereby avoiding serious asthma exacerbations. This enables them to avoid the need for reliever medications, permits them to be physically active, and have normal to near-normal lung function. Treatment of asthma should be tailored to each patient based on their symptoms, risk factors, and the effectiveness and availability of their medication.
