Federal HIPAA Compliance for Pharmacies

HIPAA refers to a federal law that protects sensitive patient health information from being disclosed without the patient’s consent. Another purpose of this legislation was to improve the portability and accountability of health insurance coverage for employees between jobs and to reduce fraud and abuse in healthcare.
