The severity of the disease ranges considerably, with the elderly and those with comorbidities at a significantly higher risk of hospitalization and death. Treatment protocols for acute COVID-19 and long COVID will be discussed, but it will be emphasized that the research in this field is rapidly evolving, and clinicians must stay current on the latest studies and publications to provide the best care for their patients.
