What If I Am Renewing My Texas Pharmacy Tech License for Sterile Compounding?
A pharmacy technician involved in sterile compounding must complete at least the following:
(I) Two hours of ACPE-accredited continuing education in one or more areas specified in paragraph (4)(D) of this subsection for those compounding low- and medium-risk sterile preparations; or

If I Am Nationally Certified Through PTCB and/or NHA, Do I Still Need CE?
Yes, pharmacy technicians are required to complete continuing education (CE) as specified in Board Rule 297.8 and may be subject to random audits by the TSBP. National certification through PTCB or NHA (ExCPT) no longer exempts technicians from TSBP's CE requirements or random audits. However, CE completed for national certification can be applied toward the TSBP CE requirement, provided it meets TSBP standards and falls within the current renewal period.
