Required CE Courses for Massachusetts Pharmacists
The below hours are due each calendar year
2 hours of pharmacy law
1 hour of immunizations (if practicing immunizations)
5 contact hours in the subject area of sterile compounding (if practicing sterile compounding)
3 contact hours in the subject area of complex non-sterile compounding (if practicing non-sterile compounding)
Collaborative Practice Agreement Continuing Education Requirement: For each year of the agreement, pharmacists MUST complete at least 5 additional contact hours (if practicing collaborative practice agreement, that brings your total annual CE hours to 25)
Pharmacists with prescriptive authority participating in collaborative drug therapy management must complete one hour of training every two years on topics related to pain management, opioid addiction risks, patient counseling, identifying at-risk individuals, or the use of opioid antagonists.
