3 of the 30 CE hours must be related to self-administered hormonal contraceptives, if authorized to dispense.

From the Arizona state statutes: A pharmacist is exempt from the continuing education requirement "between the time of initial licensure and first renewal"

Arizona Reciprocity

The Arizona State Board of Pharmacy permits licensure by reciprocity for pharmacists who are licensed in another state or territory. To apply, the applicant must:

  • Complete and submit the NABP Application for Licensure Transfer
  • Register and prepay for the Arizona MPJE exam
  • Complete the Application for Pharmacist Licensure by Reciprocity form and pay a $500.00 application fee
  • Provide a copy of a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card

If the applicant is an Arizona resident, they can apply online through the Department of Public Safety’s website by selecting the Regular Application – Paid Employee option, followed by the Board of Pharmacy – Licensure. Non-residents must contact the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) to obtain an application packet.

If applicable, the applicant must also:

  • Submit copies of court documentation for any criminal arrests, charges, or convictions
  • Provide copies of documentation related to any past, current, or pending disciplinary actions or denial of licensure for any professional license

Finally, the applicant must take and pass the Arizona MPJE after the application has been approved.
