Course Overview

Droperidol is a butyrophenone-class typical antipsychotic that has a labeled use in the United States for the reduction of nausea and vomiting that accompanies diagnostic and surgical procedures. The current guidance for its safe and effective use is discussed, along with its emerging use in emergency department settings. Clinicians should also be aware of the potential adverse events associated with this drug.
