Course Summary
Crohn’s disease is one of two gastrointestinal disorders that comprise inflammatory bowel disease. A chronic and complex disorder, Crohn’s disease negatively impacts patients’ well-being and quality of life. This continuing education program will provide a review of the etiology, pathophysiology, and classification of Crohn’s disease. Available pharmacologic treatments, including mechanisms of action, side effect profiles, and recommended place in therapy, will be discussed in detail. The role of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians as members of interdisciplinary care teams will be highlighted.
